Into a clean clay pot or a kadai, put the chopped shallots, ginger, green chilies, curry leaves, half tbsp of coconut oil
Using the back of a ladle, gently press these shallots and other ingredients for 2 mins.
To it, add the grated coconut, turmeric powder, and salt
Mix well with the ladle for another minute and then keep the ladle aside
To the mix add the cleaned anchovies and with another spoon gently stir it to the coconut mix without breaking the fish
Add another half tablespoon of Coconut oil and stir again
Add salt if needed
And finally add ¼ to ½ cup of water to the mix and stir once more
Place the pot with mix on the stove on medium flame
Let the water in it boil and then close the pot and cook for 10-15mins until the fish is cooked
Do not forget to stir in between to prevent the mix from getting burnt.
Then after 15 mins or once the fish is cooked, if any gravy is left in the pot, stir and cook for another 5-8 mins until the water is completely absorbed
That's it, Yummy meen peera is ready.
