Want to try making a fudgy brownie with whole wheat flour? Here is the recipe. It is a very easy recipe to follow, you would definitely enjoy it

Equipment

  • 8inch square baking pan

Ingredients
  

Dry ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour (Atta)
  • 2/3 cup Cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1⅓ cup Sugar

Wet ingredients

  • 2 Eggs Room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (melted and cooled)
  • 2 tsp Vanilla essence

Chocolates

  • 3/4 cup Bar chocolate Shredded
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips semi-sweet

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350degrees Fahrenheit/180degree Celsius

Preparing the Dry ingredients

  • Into a bowl, sift the atta or whole wheat flour , cocoa powder and salt
  • To it add the sugar, mix it to the others and keep aside
  • Take a bar chocolate(of your choice), (i have used semi-sweet ones) and shred it into thin slices, keep it aside

Preparing the wet ingredients

  • To another bowl, crack the eggs and beat until slightly frothy
  • Then add the vegetable oil and stir it
  • Once well stirred, pour in the unsalted butter which is melted and cooled
  • Stir everything well
  • Pour the vanilla essence and stir again

Final mixing

  • Once the wet ingredients are stirred well, into it,put the dry ingredients that are kept aside
  • Add in different batches for the ease of stirring and it helps uniform stirring too.
  • Mix well until combined
  • Once that is done, put the shredded chocolate and mix well
  • After that move the mix to a 8inch square baking tray lined with parchment paper
  • Spread the mix evenly
  • Place the Chocolate chips on top. if you want more chocolate, you could add more
  • Then bake it in the oven for 30mins
  • Bake until the tester comes out with a little or few crumbs
  • Yummy Whole wheat brownies are ready
  • The brownie would be fudgy. If you want a more dried one, you would have to bake it 5mins more

While baking, the butter would appear on top, You may think it is not cooked and would bake it more, ending up with a dry brownie(i have done, that’s why I’m telling.. 😃)
So once it is 30mins, take the pan out of the oven, check with the tester at the center of the brownie, if it comes out with few crumbs, it is the right texture. The butter on top would dry off after sometime.
Try this out, you would definitely love it. My girls thoroughly enjoyed it and keep asking me to make it again. And fortunately, it has very less preparation time, so why not bake it again?? 😃😃😃
