For the potato patties

  • 3 Potatoes (medium size) Boiled until cooked
  • 1/2 cup Onion (finely chopped into small cubes)
  • 3 Green Chilies (chopped)
  • 1/2 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro
  • 1/2 tbsp Corn Flour
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose Flour
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Water

For Frying

  • Oil as required for frying

For the Gravy

  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp Garlic finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chilies finely chopped
  • 1 cup Onion finely chopped
  • tbsp Kashmiri Chili powder
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Kectup
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • Cilantro for garnishing


Preparing Potato patties

  • Peel the cooked potatoes and mash it
  • Put the chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies
  • Put Chili powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida powder, cumin powder, corn flour, all-purpose flour, salt, a little oil and water
  • Mix everything well with the spoon and make small balls out of it and keep it aside

Frying the potatoes patties

  • Into a skillet with enough oil, place the potato mix balls slowly and fry it on medium flame
  • Fry it until it turns brown color
  • Once fried, keep it side

Preparing the gravy

  • Into a pan, pour the oil, drop the garlic, green chilies, onion
  • Saute it well
  • Once sauteed, add the Kashmiri chili powder
  • Stir until the raw smell of the powder fades
  • Once done, put the Tomoto ketchup, mix well
  • Then to it add the water, lemon juice and salt
  • Let it boil and gravy reduce
  • Once the gravy starts thickening, add the potato patties
  • Gently stir it without breaking the patties
  • Let it be on the stove for another 3-4mins
  • Then garnish with the cilantro
  • Yummy Aloo 65 ready..



The amount of all-purpose flour is very important as otherwise, the patties would crumble off while frying.
Always add the spices according to your taste.
