HARIYALI CHICKEN – https://youtu.be/qUIWHxIeYNU – or called Green Chicken Curry, a really good combination for chappathi or roti or even white rice, is a delicious curry recipe made with very few ingredients. The chicken is marinated in a green marinade made with herbs and spices and later cooked until tender. This is another one of the easiest chicken recipes that you could cook for dinner for a busy weekday.
This recipe is given to me by one of my help and I loved the recipe since then. The recipe she gave had more steps. I did a few alterations and I must say the recipe has turned to be awesome with making it fewer steps and easy to cook without losing the taste even a bit.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Chicken cut into medium pieces

For the marinade

  • inch Ginger chopped
  • 7 Garlic chopped
  • 4 Green chilies
  • ¼ Mint leaves chopped
  • 1 handful Cilantro chopped
  • 20 Roasted cashew nuts soaked in water for 15 mins
  • Water enough to blend
  • Salt as needed

For the gravy

  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 5 Cardamom
  • 7 Cloves
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 3 medium Onion chopped
  • Salt
  • ¼ cup Warm water

Instructions
 

Marinating the chicken

  • Put all the ingredients under the "for blending" section into a mixie jar
  • Blend well
  • Marinade is ready
  • Place the chicken and put the marinade
  • Apply the marinade to the chicken pieces and keep it aside for 30 mins

Making the Hariyali chicken

  • Into the pan kept on medium flame, pour vegetable oil and heat it
  • Once the oil turns hot, put the whole spices: fennel seeds, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and stir for a few seconds
  • Then add the chopped onions and stir until the onions turn translucent.
  • Add the marinated chicken and the marinade(if any)
  • Stir well
  • Add salt and warm water and stir well
  • Close and cook for 30 mins
  • Stir intermittently
  • After 30mins, if there is a lot of gravy, cook for a few minutes until the gravy is reduced or upto your desired consistency.
  • And that's it yummy Hariyali chicken is ready.
